Matthew,
Today, I meet with Gabe and Shawn onsite to inspect potential life safety concerns from a tenant (see attached email).
The tenant let us in and showed the areas of concern. There are several potential life safety issues that should be
nd
addressed; such as, missing exterior exit stairway serving the 2 floor, exit signage issues throughout, means of egress
obstructions, mechanical and electrical work that appears to be done w/o permits, space(s) being used other than
originally designed with different occupancy classifications/loads, open electrical wires, access to gym space(s) thru a
freight elevator, etc. This list is NOT all-inclusive and a more thorough inspection needs be performed. My
recommendation would be to start the process to post this structure and “Unsafe” and reach out to the owner.
However, this building is very complex and will take some in depth review of our records to fully understand the
potential issues and previous use. We do have some older permits and records in our address folder:
N:\\CommDev\\Building\\Address files\\F\\Fairfield St W\\702 Fairfield St W
It does look you made a site visit on 8/17/2022. All correspondence has been saved under permit 22-2453 and the
investigation folder: N:\\CommDev\\Building\\Address files\\F\\Fairfield St W\\702 Fairfield St W\\Investigation
