HomeMy WebLinkAboutPatrol Notice of Testing OCT2023 CITY OF TWIN FALLS JOB ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: October 20, 2023 DEPARTMENT: Police POSITION: Police Officer or Police Officer Recruit EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Selection EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: $28.13 Certified Police Officer w/2 years' experience $22.88 Police Officer Recruit—non-certified SIGN-ON BONUS: The City of Twin Falls is offering a sign on bonus up to $4500 with the completion of the following steps for Police Officers with varying levels of experience. • Successful completion the hiring process and at the conclusion of the first pay period; • Recruit- $500, Police Officer 1 - $1000, Police Officer I1 - $1000, Police Officer I1I - $1000 • Successful completion of Field Officer Training and moves to "alone status"; • Recruit- $500, Police Officer I - $1000, Police Officer II - $1000, Police Officer III - $1000 • Successful completion of the first year of employment. • Recruit- $1000, Police Officer I - $1000, Police Officer II - $2000, Police Officer III - $2500 BENEFIT PACKAGE INCLUDES: Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho-P.E.R.S.I., Vacation & Medical Leave (accrued bi-weekly), Medical & Dental Insurance, Paid Holidays (12), Paid Long Term Disability and Life Insurance,Wellness Program, Family Bonding Leave, and Tuition Reimbursement. NOTICE OF TESTING:The City is accepting applications for Police Officer.This testing will be conducted to establish a pool of qualified applicants from which current vacancies will be filled. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application and a U.S. citizen. Position requires high school graduation or equivalency;valid driver's license;good written and oral communication skills;good reading comprehension skills;emotional intelligence; problem solving; and that ability to successfully complete testing requirements. Police officers must have the ability to function on a day-to-day basis without close supervision or assistance. The department is looking for officer candidates who are community minded with a service orientation.
