POSITION: Corporal BI-WEEKLY SALARY: $3,384
Sergeant BI-WEEKLY SALARY: $3,605
Candidates must specify if they are testing for Corporal, Sergeant, or both in the letter of interest. There will
be only one testing process for both promotional opportunities.
Qualified candidates on military leave will be given the opportunity to test upon reemployment with the
City.
To be eligible to test, candidates must meet the following minimum standards:
FOR BOTH POSITIONS:
• Current employment of not less than three (3) years total full-time sworn experience in law enforcement with a
minimum of two (2) years with the City of Twin Falls. (The following experience may not be substituted for any
portion of the three-year minimum:military police,corrections,detention,or reserve officer status.)
FOR CORPORAL:
• Hold a POST Basic Certificate at the time of application closing date. Possession is defined as a signed certificate
on record with the Idaho POST Academy.
FOR SERGEANT:
• Hold a POST Intermediate Certificate at the time of application closing date. Possession is defined as a signed
certificate on record with the Idaho POST Academy.
RESTRICTIONS:
• Officers currently on disciplinary probation are not eligible to participate in the promotional process.
• Candidates must be"off duty" during participation in this process except for the Oral Board and Command Staff interviews
when a candidate can be on duty but"out of service."
TESTING PROCEDURE: The process will consist of the following with each phase receiving the assigned weight:
• Written Assessment-25% (of total score); Candidates will receive information for this step on Monday,January 6,2025.
Must be completed and turned into Human Resources by 5:00 pm on Monday,January 13,2025.
• Oral Board-25% (of total score;This five-member board will consist of community members,police supervisors
from other law enforcement agencies, and supervisors from other City departments who will ask a set of structured
interview questions. Candidates will also be required to orally present a summary of the written assessment to the board.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday,January 14,2025. Interview times will be assigned.
• Sergeants' Evaluation - 25% (of total score); A formal review and an evaluation rating each applicant's work history,
including performance evaluations,commendation and disciplinary record,tenure and career diversity and competency.
• Command Staff Interview—25% (of total score);An interview with the members of the Command Staff. Interviews are
tentatively scheduled for Tuesday,January 14,2025.
Candidates must achieve a minimum cumulative score of seventy percent (70%) in this process to be
placed in the pool of eligible candidates.
SELECTION: Final selections for Sergeant and Corporal will be made from the pool of eligible candidates by the Chief of Police.
The pools for the positions shall remain valid for a period of one(1)year from the notice of testing or unless all eligible candidates are
selected.

resume,declaring the position or positions testing for,and summarizing education,work experience and special training,to the Human
