Fill the bottom of the excavated area with ¾ inch road base to top of exposed utilities, ensuring to bed any exposed pipes or conduits. 3. If excavated area is too small or too deep to start with Jumping-Jack, a breaker bar and a hand tamper will be used to fill in any voids beneath pipes and conduits. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until Jumping-Jack can be used. 5. When compacted fill reaches ~4 inches below grade elevation, utilize hot mix asphalt to fill in the remaining space making sure to leave a slight bulge of no more than 1/4in above grade elevation to account for any settling from vehicle traffic. 6. Seal-coat all asphalt gaps to city specifications. (Section 806 pg.54) Twin Falls City code. ** Pneumatic tamper will replace Hand-Tamper where conditions permit.
