We have increased our patrols. I suggest that we work with IS to give the PD and you access to that camera. We are
working to get immediate access to more of the city cameras for the PD. Of course if you have just under $10K to spend
on the camera that Arnel suggested that would be helpful. If your team catches folks doing this please call dispatch
immediately. Understand that it won’t be a top priority response and I wouldn’t suggest that your folks try to detain
anyone but letting us know as soon as it happens can make a difference in holding people accountable .

We have seen an increase in activity over the past year or so. We caught some kids painting under the bridge this
summer, but I think they were just trying their hand at this activity.
I think we can request the footage from the cameras from IS, but we can’t monitor them for some reason. It would help
if there was new graffiti that we could tie to a manageable time frame
Arnel is living in the area and visiting the trail regularly and has picked this as his cause at the moment. I agree, graffiti is
frustrating and disappointing, but I don’t know what the answer is. Not sure heightened patrol will catch it. Do you?
I don’t know how much energy we need to give him.

I would also like to point this out to you at
200ft you have a city owned camera
2
you can get access to that camera any time you want
and you're not able to identify who is doing this ?
3
this gets painted, then new graffiti comes up
not only are you able to identify who is doing this but the city employees that work at that building 200 feet don't even
report it how crazy is that
here is the camera that i am referring to on the parks and rec building
It might be time for you to appoint a new police officer that will look into this issue a bit more.
in my mind it seems reasonable reqest to get an ordinance violation submitted to fix the graffiti on the bridge then one
of your offices simply goes to parks and rec building and says hey if somebody paints this again let us know we will look
at the camera footage
if the camera sucks well we are back to my original email
you needs something decent that can see at least 200ft
Thank you for your time :)
