I cried like a child when he told me he was leaving so his son could test for the CFO posi?on. Danced like a crazy person
when he said he’d come back when Ross didn’t get the job. We made the best hire ever in that process.
Please make sure that Ma? changes for FY 24 the distribu?on of salary so that an amount equal to a grade 12 market of
Brent’s salary goes to water fund and frees up the room in the general fund.

Interes?ng enough. . . I walked over to First Federal this morning with Brent and filled him in on the posi?on informa?on
that we have discussed – and he men?oned being very happy because he is ge?ng “?red” and he alluded to re?rement
again. Brent’s tough because at ?mes I feel like he’ll be here for a long ?me, and then he decides the end is near so
quickly. I am glad you have kept me pushing through this (as much as I will really, really miss the rela?onship and
friendship I have gained working with Brent over the years).
Thank you for your foresight in so many things and so many avenues. I appreciate and value your mentorship the last
few years.

Good morning,
Cailin will be back today. Yesterday was her first child's first day of school. Would you please send her
an email and ask her suggestion/thoughts about how a recruitment for your position would fit into her
current schedule? Give her enough information about when you want to avoid posting (conflicts with tax
etc.), so she can work that into her thoughts as well.
1
Please give her a copy of the job description and let her know this is the fill a vacancy that has been
empty for the past two years. We do not have a current posting for her to work from so she will need it to
write.
Ask her to touch base with either yourself or me with any questions as to the history of why it's been
vacant and how it's changed.
Thank you,
G

Good evening,
Just a quick point of clarification. I thought you were going to hire a grade 12 CPA?

I have worked quite a bit with Brent regarding the open Assistant Finance Director posi?on. Coupling this with the
poten?al that this posi?on could help with in some of the Finance-related du?es of HR, I think it is probably more
important to fill the posi?on sooner than later. Addi?onally, we are just about to start our heavy audit li? and hiring
somebody soon would allow for some immediate training on audit work in the months leading up to February.
Please see a?ached my proposed job descrip?on.
I’ve also worked with Brent in re-alloca?ng some of his ?me to UB. He has compiled the a?ached list of ?me that he
spends doing the “finance” func?on of his job and my recommenda?on would be to keep $73,702 in Finance and move
the remaining $38,867 to UB. Calculated as follows:
Total Hours 2,080
Finance Hours 1,430
UB Hours 650 (Remainder)
Finance % 68.75%
UB % 31.25%
Total % 100.00%
Finance $73,702
UB $38,867
Total Salary $112,569
