We opened it up to volunteer firefighters in are area to make sure we had the staffing. On-duty is always welcome, but if they had to leave, it would put us in a bind. I appreciate it. I can speak to the issues we are experiencing with manning levels. Currently, we have three higher-ranking individuals out with injuries, and we recently had a retirement. Covering these positions, along with managing vacation schedules, has been very taxing on our department. I know I am preaching to the choir, but the challenges are real. I hope you’ll understand the reasoning behind Bowman’s response. We will do our best to get on duty engine companies to the training. I did meet with Renaldi who stated he was planning on attending as an instructor. The FD is ALL IN on this training and want to participate as much as possible. Are we going to get more of your fire guys there? This needs dedication to the total 16 hours to pull this AAIR class off. I have not had time to catch Jesse as I am crazy busy. I know when we met back in January you were confident we could staff the training. Just double-checking. I only had you and Renaldi as instructors for the June class, so, when feasible, let me know if that’s dependable or of any others that will be. 1 Aaron Nay Twin Falls Police Department School Resource Officer (Canyon Ridge High School) Cell: 208-308-7207 anay@tfid.org PUBLIC RECORDS NOTICE: Pursuant to Idaho Code § 74-101 through 74-126, this email and responses are subject to the Idaho Public Records law and may be disclosed to the public upon request, unless otherwise exempt from disclosure under the law. I am trying to get 3 of our newer members coverage so they can attend the class. The on-duty crew will be checking in to observe. Lewin said he had let you know that he will not be participating as an instructor this round. I am trying to get confirmation from the other instructors but that also relies on coverage because it splits our C and A shifts. I have an FAA inspection at the airport during that timeframe as well. I will keep you in the loop. Sorry to make this complicated. Feel free to send this out to your people, as we’ll administratively be able to approve and tweak registrants from the admin side of thth the course. If needed, anyone signing up for the July Class (17-18), the course number for July is 20463. Looking at the material, we tentatively have divided up the majority of the modules for our LE instructors. We would like our fire cohort instructors to tackle Modules 2 (Active Attack Medical (TECC), and Module 4 (Fire, EMS, Fire as a Weapon). Mr. Bowman, would you handle getting volunteers/voluntold from your guys for those modules? This will give everyone these last couple weeks to review their material. I foresee everyone else being able to float and assist on the practical application modules and scenarios.
