Loosli and Officer Deville for working the reckless grant Friday night. Thank you Cpl. Smriko and Officer Cunningham for working it Saturday night. - Friday night we had a DOA 653 Rose St N. A male subject observed a female neighbor fall. He went and helped her up and back in to her apartment. When leaving he wasn’t able to catch his breath and passed away on the sidewalk in front of her apartment. Thank you to Det. Strassner for coming in to assist with it. (Case # 24003738) - Friday and Saturday nights officers stayed busy most the shi?. Saturday night officers were busy taking calls all the way up un?l approximately 0500 before it slowed down. - On Sunday we responded to a report of a predator call in the 300 Blk Polk Street. A juvenile came home and told her parents that someone tried to grab her and take her. Officers checked the area for cameras and evidence to corroborate the report. Det. Strassner was advised. (Case # 24003776) - On Sunday we responded to Walmart for a report of a male subject performing sexual acts on himself in front of people in his car. Officers were able to work the inves?ga?on and later contact him at his residence where he admi?ed to it. This was great work by officers to track this person down and issue him a cita?on. Downtown/Main Street Issues: - Friday night was crazy on Main Street. A group decided to have an impromptu car meet-up down there as found on social media. (screenshot above) Main Street from Shoshone Street to Idaho St was full of cars backed into spots on both sides of the road. One group of people set up a Treager BBQ, table, and chairs in front of Twin Beans and had a BBQ. Main Street stayed packed un?l about 0300 but everyone we came into contact with during the late hours were adults. It should be noted that the group who had the BB men?oned they plan on making it a regular thing. I located on social media in a local car club them talking about making it a regular thing. - Saturday Main Street wasn’t as packed but was s?ll busy with cars from Shoshone to Idaho St. While there wasn’t a BBQ Saturday, there were a lot of people hanging out on Main. People stayed down there un?l the last group le? around 0200. - Both nights patrol and the officers working the grant stayed very proac?ve downtown. Officers performed traffic stops, wrote ?ckets, and made arrests when needed. Both nights at some point all you could see down all of main was red/blue lights from all the traffic stops. Officers also issued several cita?ons to people for jaywalking who were causing traffic issues on main. In total night shi? issued 39 cita?ons in the downtown/Main Street area this weekend. - Sunday the crowd was much smaller with just a few camping chairs set up. We did have two groups that got into a road rage issue that started on Main Ave. The two groups decided to go to Walmart to “talk it out.” It resulted in one group spraying the other with pepper spray. Both par?es were located and a report is being completed. st - Upon doing research on social media of the car clubs and events, I came across one they have every 1 Sunday nd of the month. Apparently, they host it in the city parking lot in the 200 Blk 2 Ave South. I located pictures from thnd the one they had today (Sunday August 4) and saw pictures of people doing burnouts down 2 Ave South. st Looking at the page they have, it’s a monthly car club that meets there every 1 Sunday of the month and its st called Magic Valley Cars & Coffee. They are already adver?sing the next one for Sunday Sept 1.
