Leadership Moment: 1. Postponed a. June 7: Sergeant Hendrickson b. June 14: Sergeant Howe c. June 21: Sergeant Loosli Chief Kingsbury: 1. ICOPA conference update a. The McCall City Manager announced that Dallas Palmer (JKW’s nephew,) will be the new Chief of Police for McCall. 2. Staff Meeting cancelled next week due to the Emotional Survival Conference 3. May is mental health awareness month a. Chief to Lieutenant Stotts: Please post about Mental Health Awareness on our social media accounts. 4. City Council updates a. Consent Calendar: special events i. Shoshone After Dark being extended for a couple of weeks ii. Crazy Dayz: June 4 iii. Perrona Music Festival: June 19 b. Executive Session met at 4:00 p.m. i. Ida Clark will be the new HR Director (Travis sent an email out this afternoon). She will start on June 21. c. Engineering talked about pressurized irrigation treatments d. Friends of the Avenues discussion – Historical District i. Council directed City Staff to look into it further. 5. Laserfiche form for radio issues a. Lieutenant Stotts: Have we had any radio issues lately? i. Captain Wright: Kathy needs to know the details in order to investigate what is happening. ii. Sergeant Coronado: The car radios have been having issues. 6. EMT meeting recap a. Captain Hicks will be making a presentation to council on June 6 to use forgone money for building expenses (gate, mother’s room, plumbing). b. Health insurance will have a renewal increase of 11.4% i. Willamette Dental will have a significant increase. c. Mid-year check ins i. Make sure you are doing these. d. ICRMP renewal = 8% increase e. Idaho Power is running out of residential power units -all southern Idaho is being affected by this. 7. Community Unity Table – June 11 a. The dinner will be Bosnian themed and held at CSI. b. Who is planning to attend from the PD? i. Captain Hicks will be there. ii. Sergeant O’Donnell: Will reach out to Officer Lilic to see if he would like to go. 8. Would like to thank every one of you. a. Things are getting busier, and it seems we are having an increase in gun crimes. Violent crime is in increasing region wide. b. We can’t get complacent; things can happen at any moment. Lieutenant Dimond: 1. Awards nominations a. The banquet is approaching quickly, and we need to receive all nominations by mid- August. b. Corporal Hayes: Is there a possibility of making the nomination form in Laserfiche? i. Lieutenant Dimond: We could look into it, but the current form is simple and requires a few boxes to be filled out and then the report attached. ii. Lieutenant Thueson: Encourages every supervisor to get with your teams and designate someone to do the nominations if needed. Tami Lauda: 1. Dispatch center update a. Deanna Miller and Enrique Moralez started on Monday. b. Jamie is in phase 2 and doing great. She has ambulance experience and works as an EMT in Kimberly. Corporal Hayes: 1. Golf tournament coming up on July 16 a. Please contact him if you are interested in joining a team. b. Also looking for raffle donations. Captain Wright: 1. Airport drill: September 14 a. They have not decided if it will be fire or police based, but we will most likely be helping in some capacity. 2. Koopman promoted to Lieutenant at Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office today. Sergeant Applewhite: 1. Law Enforcement Memorial a. It was great to have Officer Kraft, Officer Ehardt, and Barb Handy get to go this year. Lieutenant Stotts: 1. Hiring update a. Four moving forward to next step in process (from hiring event) b. Two currently in process i. One in background, ride along scheduled tonight. ii. Chief: Please have Officer Cunningham give an update on how the ride along went. Sergeant Gassert: 1. RMS refresh a. Please reach out to him if you are interested in a refresher. 2. Concern brought up by Jill Sweesy a. Affidavits of unavailability do not apply in trials or preliminary hearings. b. Lieutenant Thueson: The courts, not the prosecutors set the schedule. c. Sergeant Gassert: Due to covid, there are no continuances happening right now. i. You should continue to fill the unavailability affidavits out because they do look at them, but they aren’t always going to be honored. Captain Hicks: 1. Family Academy is two weeks out. a. We currently have 13 signed up, but we would like to get at least 20 to come. b. Please do a final pitch to your squads this week and also mention the academy to your spouses. We plan on starting a spousal support group after this. c. Everyone is welcome to attend the barbecue on the last night of the academy. 2. SPIDR tech a. Brief overview i. It is a valuable tool for supervisors and for victims of crime. ii. He can give dashboard access to whoever wants it. iii. Currently, 80 agencies are using this program, and we were one of the first 20. iv. About 80% of our emails do not go through due to inaccurate email addresses. How do we fix this? v. Lieutenant Garner: One of the issues is how it assigns an officer’s name to it. vi. Sergeant Gassert: Believes it is pulling information from whoever is last assigned as primary. b. Investigations module i. We haven’t turned that feature on yet, but we plan to utilize it in the future. ii. There is an option to automatically notify a victim when their case has been sent to the prosecutor for review. iii. The location of emergency can also update if it changes. iv. Another email will be sent once the case is completed. v. Will be getting an update with some of the features in a couple weeks. 1. Lieutenant Garner: Thinks we need to do a better job at communicating to our employees about what it is.
