I am frustrated at this request but am happy to comply. I scheduled this based on a comment she made
about not having clear goals.

Mandi,
I think this is a good idea and I will work on the handouts you’ve provided. My only request is that I would like to have an
HR representative present at the meeting.
Thank you,

Subject: Six Month Check-in
Maxine,
Something you mentioned in our conversation last week that stayed with me is perhaps a lack of goals for both RIDE TFT
and your position. I heard that feedback and would like to spend some time addressing both. First, I would like to do a
six-month check in with you. I am attaching a self-evaluation that is based off what we use in our formal evaluation
process. While new employees don’t complete an evaluation until after the 12-month introductory period is over, I think
this will be helpful for both of us to assess where we are six months in and where we want to take RIDE TFT and your
position over the coming six months. I am attaching both the evaluation questions and the City’s Value statements.
There has been a concerted effort to enmesh our values in our hiring and evaluation processes, so take some time to
look at the collective definitions of teamwork, connection, commitment, integrity and honesty as you complete the self-
evaluation and set some professional goals for yourself for the next six months.

I will send a calendar invite for the check-in and would appreciate you getting your self-evaluation back to me prior to
our meeting so I can spend some time looking it over before we meet.
Second, we have talked about setting some larger strategic goals for RIDE TFT. I think we first talked about doing so
around six months, and at the time it seemed so far away. It is crazy that we are already here. I would like to involve Neil
to some degree, as his experience in the day to day operations is very pertinent to the future goals we set. I will add an
initial meeting to our calendars so we have a timeframe to work with to get started.
