Gentlemen
Attached is what I sent to Lt Garner. As I’m later to this discussion than the rest of you, perhaps you’ve already
presented this. He suggested I ask you all to review it as well.

Subject: Deployment Ideas
Lt.
I too have hashed out the possibilities of the 10.5 deployment and found we would be doing ourselves
harm from the times of 1700-2030. I have attached two documents where I have a linear timeline
showing the number of officers that would be on-duty throughout the day and it illustrates the drop in
coverage at 1700 hours on the 10.5 deployment. The second document is also a linear timeline under
the current, but modified, 12 hour deployment where we don’t have a drop in coverage for 3.5 hours at
1700 hours. I find myself, like the other sergeants, not seeing how we can get the coverage we are
looking for with the number of deployable personnel on the 10.5 schedule.
Let me know your thoughts or if I’ve made a mistake on either assumptions, as I’ve drafted them.
