RE: Response to May 23,2025,Letter for Compliance Evaluation Inspection Violations#3 and#4
Dear Ms. Lowe:
This letter provides a status update regarding the identified violations#3 and#4 related to the sewer line
that crosses Rock Creek, following the compliance evaluation inspection of the Twin Falls Wastewater
Treatment Plant on May 7,2025, and the subsequent Compliance Evaluation Inspection letter dated May
23,2025.
As mentioned in previous communications with the Department of Environmental Quality(DEQ),the
City of Twin Falls has been actively working to repair the sewer line responsible for the sanitary sewer
overflow(SSO)that occurred on May 14,2025. The city has contracted PMF Inc.to carry out this
project,which is currently underway.
During a site visit on June 17,2025,it was observed that PMF has installed a temporary fused HDPE pipe
to bypass wastewater flow while the repairs are being made. The team has made significant progress and
anticipates that the new sewer line will be welded together within the next week(see the pictures below of
the job site). The substantial completion date for the project is set for July 15, 2025;however, after
discussing the timeline with the owner of PMF Inc.,it seems they are ahead of schedule and may finish
much sooner.
Once the new sewer line is completed,the issues that led to the wastewater discharges into Rock Creek
will be resolved. The updates to the collection system will help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
